Kings Park Agenda: Kingsmen Homecoming Weekend, BBQ

Your guide to what's happening in Kings Park this weekend: Oct. 10- 13.

Although forecasters are calling for some rain and drizzle this weekend, nothing can dampen Kings Park's school spirit as the 2013 homecoming weekend gets underway.

KINGS PARK

Pep Rally & Community BBQ
Kick off the celebration of Kings Park's homecoming day weekend with the 14th annual Pep Rally/BBQ, Bonfire and Auction at Kings Park High School on Friday from 3:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. 

Homecoming 2013
Show your Kings Park pride this weekend as the Kingsmen celebrate their 2013 homecoming. The parade steps off at noon on Saturday, followed by a 1 p.m. ribbon cutting to celebrate Kings Park High School's new press box. 
Kingsmen varsity football team with play off against Islip at 1:30 p.m. Let's go Kingsmen. 

Farmers Market
The Kings Park Farmers Market is held on Sunday from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. in the municipal parking lot across from the firehouse on Main Street.


SMITHTOWN
Smithown East Homecoming
Let’s go East Bulls. The weekend’s festivities start off with a homecoming parade stepping off from St. James Elementary School at 12:30 p.m.  

Bring your best game face to cheer on East’s varsity football team as they take on West Babylon for the homecoming game. Going to the game? Tweet updates and photos using the #EastBulls13 to be featured on Patch post-game.

Smithtown West Homecoming
Let’s go Bulls. High School West’s homecoming parade steps off at 1:30 p.m. Saturday along Plymouth Boulevard.  Then join the homecoming celebration at 2:30 p.m. on the athletic fields at High School West. 

Cheer on the High School West varsity football team as they take on Riverhead this Saturday at homecoming. The game begins at 4 p.m. Going to the game? Tweet updates and photos using the #WestBulls to be featured on Patch post-game. 

Harvest Fall Festival
Borella’s Farm Stand in St. James will host its month-long 8th annual Harvest Fall Festival on weekends from Oct. 5 - Oct. 27, and Columbus Day. There are hayride, pumpkin picking, a corn maze and more for families to enjoy.

Mr. Mouse’s Orange Show
The Smithtown Township Arts Council is pleased to present Mr. Mouse’s Orange Show, featuring Katie’s puppets, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Mills Pond House Gallery. Join Mr. Mouse and his orange friends as they hunt for missing balloons. All tickets cost $9. Children make puppets after the performance.

Class of 1973 Commack North 40th Reunion
The Commack North High School Class of 1973 will hold its 40th reunion Oct. 11 at the Larkfield Mannor in East Northport.  Price per person is $125. Payments can be made to: 1973 40th H.S. Blessing of the Animals
Join Christ Lutheran Church ( 189 Burr Road, East Northport) Sunday at 1 p.m. for a blessing of the animals. For their safety, all pets must be leashed, caged or crated (as appropriate for their species or breed).

Family Football Bonanza
Share your love for football with friends and family at the Hauppauge Public Library’s Family Football Bonzana on Sunday starting at 1:15 p.m. Watch the New York Jets versus New England Patriors on the big screen while enjoying pizza and snacks. Register online with your Hauppauge library card.

Verdi Requiem
Watch a free, live performance of Verdi Requiem at the Long Island Choral Festival at 4 p.m. Sunday at Hauppauge High School. Special tribute to Verdi’s 200th birthday.

Farmers Market
Visit the Nesconset Farmers Market. Open every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., through Nov. 16, residents can come down to the shopping center at Nesconset Plaza, 127 Smithtown Blvd., for farm-fresh fruits, veggies and homemade goods.
