The Kings Park Girls Volleyball's team run for a state championship title came to an end Saturday evening after two losses to Burnt Hills in pool play halted their charge.
The team beat Pitsford Sutherland in pool play but was unable to keep it going that evening against Burnt Hills and thus ended a fabulous run, closing out their regular season with an 11-0 record and taking the county and Long Island Class A Championship. Both were back to back wins for the girls who had a fitting send off on Friday as the Kings Park Fire Department led them out of town for the journey to Glenn Falls.
According to a report on Newsday, Amanda Gannon had 16 kills, two aces, and two blocks in the win over South Side. To read the entire story on Newsday, click here (subscription required).
