The Smithtown Special Library District: On-Your-Own Train Trip to NYC (Kings Park)

Enjoy a day in the city with reduced-rate train tickets via the Long Island Rail Road and your library!

Round-trip tickets for those aged 5 to adult are ONLY $8.50 and children under 5 travel FREE!

Open to all regardless of library district. Register and pay (non-refundable cash or check made out to "Smithtown Library") in advance in person at the Nesconset (148 Smithtown Blvd; 265-3994) or Commack (3 Indian Head Rd; 543-0998) Branch of the Smithtown Library.

Then meet a library staff member on the day of the trip at the Kings Park Rail Road Station house at 8:55am. S/he will give you your tickets then.

The train leaves at 9:10am.

All participants must be on the same train and must remain in the first car as a group from Kings Park to Huntington (where we transfer) and Huntington to Penn.

Patrons who are not in the first car going into Manhattan will be charged the full price of a ticket.

Come home that day on any Kings Park bound train that leaves Penn before midnight.
