The following are the highlights of KPY Baseball/Softball Opening Day 2012:
Parade – We are very excited about our opening-day parade. Our esteemed Senator Flanagan has agreed to join our parade as the Grand Marshall.
The parade will kickoff from the municipal parking lot across from the KP Firehouse at 8:30 am SHARP! Please have the players there in uniform by 8:10. No cars will be allowed in the assembly lot. Please park in the main LIRR parking lot across the street. Dropoffs can be made at the KP library parking lot. We will march to Kings Park Memorial Park.
All are welcome to attend and support our young players!
Games – 10:00 am – 8:00 pm at Flynn Park. Please go to kingsparkyouth.com for all schedules. All preK - 7th grade teams (unless division has an uneven number of teams) will play on Opening Day.
FREE Kid-Size Cone or Cup (single scoop) of Hershey’s Ice Cream at The Creamery – All day to any KPY baseball or softball player in uniform. Limited to one per player.
We are pleased that The Creamery (Hershey’s) on Main Street in Kings Park has generously agreed to give a free kid-size (single scoop) ice cream to any KPY baseball or softball player in uniform on Opening Day. Be sure to give a big thank you to Rocco and Michael – we appreciate the support!
Food Concession – Our 12u Lady Knights travel softball team and 13u Knights travel baseball team have come together and graciously volunteered to run a concession stand at Flynn Park all day on Opening Day. They will have hot and cold drinks, chips, baked goods and of course hot dogs and more!!! Leave the coolers at home and make a day of it. It’s also a great way to support the Lady Knights and Knights! Thanks, everyone!
