“The charter is great for families,” Captain Gary explains. “We accommodate everyone from the beginner to the experienced fisherman.”

The Sunrise starts fishing for fluke in early May, then striped bass in late May. By the end of June, Captain Gary switches to a combination of bass and bluefish.  August through September brings porgies, blues and bass and by mid October, the Sunrise is in search of blackfish.

“The fishing is good now,” says Captain Gary. “We’ve had stripers up to 29lbs, and lots over 20lbs over the past few weeks and the blues are picking up.”

The charter provides all bait and tackle. They clean and bag all keeper fish and they take care of all license requirements. All passengers have to do is pack a lunch.

The Sunrise sails from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Night trips are generally available on weekends only.

Rates are based on number of persons, $85.00 per person. Booking is required three days in advance and can be done through the website or by calling Captain Gary at 631.786.7745.
