Board of Education President Selected as Woman of Distinction

Marie Goldstein has been recognized as a Woman of Distinction by state Sen. John Flanagan.

 

Kings Park Board of Education President, Marie Goldstein, has been recognized as a 2012 Woman of Distinction, by state Sen. John Flanagan.

Goldstein's achievements in business as well as her service as a member of the board of education were noted as some of her many accomplishments.

The award, established by the state Senate seeks to recognize "outstanding women living and working in New York State whose contributions have greatly enriched the quality of life in their communities and beyond", according to a statement by state Sen. Dean Skelos.

Goldstein, on of 59 women recognized, is the owner and president of Vested Business Brokers, which was established in 2001 is the largest privately held company specializing in the sale of privately held businesses, with over 3,500 listings. She is also the owner and broker of Vested Realty Group and has been a member of the board of education for 13 years.

Goldstein has also volunteered for over 10 years as the commissioner of Kings Park Cheerleading and serves as board liaison for the Kings Park Heritage Museum and anti-drug task force, Kings Park in the Know. Goldstein is married to her husband, Nathan, and together they are the parents to three children, Philip, Marie and Tiff.
