Trio of Burglaries Hit Fort Salonga

Suffolk County police confirm three homes broken into on Oct. 28.

Suffolk County police confirm that three Fort Salonga homes were hit by burglars last week.

Police said a Northfield Drive homeowner reported on Oct. 28 at 9:15 a.m. their house had been broken into. A thief snuck into the home through an unlocked window and took cash that was left in the open. No one was in the house at the time of the burglary.

Suffolk police received a second phone call at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 28 from a homeowner on Woodfield Avenue in Fort Salonga. An unknown person had attempted to break into their house through an unlocked window, but was scared off before fully entering the building. Nothing was stolen from the Woodfield Avenue home.

A third Fort Salonga homeowner called police at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 28 reporting a burglary on Concord Drive. Police said they believe a person entered the home through an unlocked door, stealing jewelry and a laptop.

Police did not provide information on whether or not these break-ins are isolated incidents or possibly connected, but said they are looking into the incidents.
