The threat of a potential gas leak led Suffolk County police to evacuate 8 Kings Park homes late Tuesday night.
Suffolk County Police said they received a 911 call at 10:24 p.m. reporting the smell of gas and a potential gas leak at 21 Dalewood Lane in Kings Park. The home's 100-gallon residential tank was leaking propane.
Police evacuated 8 nearby homes to keep residents safe from the gas leak.
Kings Park firefighters arrived to hose down the propane tank until Paraco Gas arrived to safely offload the rest of the propane gas. There were no fires or injuries, according to police.
