Crimes Nearby: Man Punches Paramedic Trying to Treat Him after Bar Fight

Smithtown
• A 21-year-old Brentwood man quickly went from being a victim to being in handcuffs. The man was being treated for injuries he received during an assault in a Smithtown bar when he punched a paramedic who was treating him, Suffolk County police said. The 21-year-old was at Halo Lounge on West Main Street on Aug. 2 at about 3:30 a.m when he was reportedly assaulted. The paramedic was trying to help him, when the victim punched him in the face. The man was arrested on a charge of obstructing emergency medical service, which is a misdemeanor.
Hauppauge• Lucas Strada, 34, of Middletown, was arrested in Hauppauge July 30 on a charge of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a felony. Police said they arrested Strada on Route 347 in Hauppauge after discovering anabolic steroids on him and the quantity of the drug led them to believe he intended to sell them.
Three Village
• Police have arrested an East Setauket man who they say was intoxicated when the car he was driving struck a pole and a fence. Mark Quintana, 18, was arrested July 31 and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, at the corner of Quail Lane and Partridge Lane in East Setauket at 4 a.m.
