Three Village

Stony Brook University officials are ramping up security after reports of a robbery and an attempted robbery on campus came in over the course of three days. After releasing an emergency alert about a student who had been robbed Sept. 1 on campus, Stony Brook University officials have now said an attempted robbery was reported Tuesday. 

Deer Park

Police are investigating an armed robbery at Deer Park's New York Commercial Bank Thursday afternoon.

Police say a man entered the bank, located at 720 Grand Boulevard at approximately 1:15 p.m., approached a teller, displayed a handgun and passed a note to the employee demanding cash.  

The teller complied with the robber's demands and the man fled on foot.  He was last seen running southeast through the bank parking lot.  

Northport

A Northport woman was arrested Thursday after police said she was driving while intoxicated after her passenger was seriously injured in a crash in Centerport early this morning.

According to Suffolk County police, Elizabeth Damilatis was driving a 2011 Volvo SUV westbound on East Main Street when she lost control of her vehicle, which struck a utility pole on the north side of road in front of 375 East Main St. at 3:51 a.m.

The passenger in the SUV, Thomas Martin, 36, of Huntington, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
