David Beal, 49, of Huntington was charged in Kings Park with Grand Larceny on Nov. 13. Police said Beal was falsely acting as a vehicle collector and towed numerous vehicles to a scrap yard and sold them. According to police, Beal completed department of motor vehicle paper work stating he was the owner of a 1994 Camry, which had been reported stolen by the owner. Beal towed and attempted to junk the vehicle at Gershow Recycling, according to police.

Daniel Ritter, 21, of Kings Park, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Nov. 22 in Smithtown. Police said Ritter, who was driving a 2012 Jeep, was pulled over on Route 25 in Smithtown for failure to maintain his lane. Police charged Ritter with DWI and aggravated DWI, which means a blood alcohol content of 1.8 or higher.
