Kings Park resident Martin Henry Ruggiero died after a long battle against cancer on Nov. 15. He was 75.
Ruggiero is a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1958. During his service, he was stationed in California, Germany and Turkey. He later joined the New York Police Department and served more than 20 years before retiring.
Ruggiero is survived by daughter, Susan Frail, and her husband, David; son Michael, a Kings Park resident; son, Matthew; and his seven grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, from 2 -4:30 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at Clayton Funeral Home, 25 Meadow Road, Kings Park. A wake service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked memoria donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
