Smithtown Town Dips $7.3M Into Reserves to Fund $103M Budget

Smithtown officials make host of last-minute changes with salary raises, including for the assistant town attorney, traffic safety director and senior planner.

Dam Breach at Sunken Meadow Re-routes Park Users

A project slated for the dam at Sunken Meadow State Park may need to be pushed along a little faster due to some damage from Superstorm Sandy.

The man–made dam, located by field three of the park, was breached after Sandy pounced on Long Island in late October. Grant monies from the Long Island Sound Futures Fund were slated before the storm to restore tidal flow. The first step in the project was to remove the dam.

Kings Park Cross Country Runners Earn High Rankings In State Meet

Three runners from the Kings Park Cross Country team took top spots in the State Meet held this month.

Kings Park fared well in the most competitive race of the day, the 5K Class A race with Shannon Ahern placing 29th,  Kathleen Naeher placing 44th and Kristen Hoeymer placing 52nd.

Hmmm, now I wonder who or what organization could be doing this illegal act? I'm not going to make an educated guess who could be involverd in this deed but I think if Kings Parkers do some research they are smart enough to figure out who does not want the real facts of the "Uplands Project" to come to light. Displaying these signs is a way of making the public aware of the atrocity of this project. Questions will then be asked. Making a night run to remove them is, at the least, a cowardly act that should be publicized every time it occurs!
