Body in Short Beach Fatal Car Fire Identified

The Nissequogue Fire Department responded to a 911 call at 11:54 a.m. on Tuesday that a car was on fire in the parking lot at the beach. When firefighters extinguished the fire, a body was found in the car.

Smithtown Man Drove While on Drugs, Sideswipes Car

A Smithtown man was arrested on charges of driving while ability impaired by drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and other traffic violations Tuesday following a car accident on Sunken Meadow Parkway, according to New York State Police.
