UPDATED: Power Outage Update: Thousands Still Without Power in Kings Park

LIPA still assessing the damage.

Power has not yet been restored to more than 4,300 customers out of 6,132 that the Long Island Power Authority services in Kings Park.

According to the LIPA storm center they are still assessing the situation in Kings Park and do not have an estimate of when they expect power to be restored.

It is not yet clear when power will be restored to all residents. LIPA head was in "damage assessment mode." .

As of  2 p.m. Monday afternoon a total of 4,916 LIPA customers are without power, while for Long Island as a whole a total of 419,538 LIPA customers were without power, marking Long Island's largest outage in 26 years.

Residents from Norma Lane, Dalewood Lane and 8th Avenue are reporting that power is back on.

Leteri Waste Management has power. Stumps and branches can be dumped there until 4:45 p.m. Monday.

Kings Park High School, Park View Elementary and the San Remo building have had power restored.
