Programs include grief counseling, scholarships and a remembrance card program where a personally addressed note card is sent to the family of a fallen firefighter on the anniversary of the day of passing.

According to Siarnicki, the Dunkin Donuts Baskin-Robbins community foundation will donate $100,000 to NFFF, which was created in 1992 by Congress to honor every fallen firefighter who dies in the line of duty.

This is the company's fifth annual event, which they describe as red-hot. The April flavor of the month, Firehouse #31 a cinnamon laced vanilla with red-hot candy pieces inside, coincides with the event. Customers can text 6333 (NFFF) to 50555 to make a personal $5 donation.

Siarnicki says he is appreciative of the event.

“It is a great way to spend time with the local fire service. It’s an opportunity for the community to get involved and get engaged,” he said.
