Two positions are open on the Smithtown Special Library District Board of Trustees.
Current Vice President of the board, Anthony Monteleone of Nesconset is running for another term. Rosalind Palazzolo of St. James is vying to win her position as trustee back after she lost re-election to Judy Marlow-Ratway last year. President of volunteer organization, The Friends of the Library, Otis Thornhill of Commack is running for a position as trustee.
The 2012 library budget of $12,649,720 is a 1.2 percent increase over the 2011 budget with an on average increase of about $6.34 per household in library taxes.
