Four Candidates Vie For Two Open Library Board Spots

Residents can meet the candidates on Oct. 3. Voting takes place on Oct. 9.

 

Four candidates will vie for two seats in the Smithtown Special Library District Board of Trustees election taking place next month.

Rosalind Palazzolo of St. James, Wayne J. Schaefer of Smithtown, Suzanne Mohr of Smithtown and incumbent John C. Martins will run. Trustee Charles Sauer is not seeking re-election. A list of candidate bios can be found here.

A Meet the Candidates Night will be held on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Smithtown Main Library.

The event will allow library district residents the opportunity to hear directly from each of the four individuals running. Questions will be asked by a moderator who will be assisted by a timekeeper. In their opening statements, the candidates will be asked to state why they are seeking the office of library trustee and what qualifications they will bring to the board.

Residents can vote in the upcoming trustee election and budget vote on October 9 from 10 a.m.- 9 p.m.
