5th Annual Turkey Trot at Nissequogue River State Park

5K run/walk begins on Thanksgiving Day at 8:30 for the 1K and 9 a.m. for 5K.

 

The Nissequogue River State Park Foundation is hosting its 5th Annual 5K Run/Walk for the Park & 1K Turkey Trot for Kids on Thanksgiving morning.

The event begins at the park administration building. The course route winds through the scenic grounds of the 522 acre park. The 1K begins at 8:30 AM and the 5K kicks off at 9 AM.  

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers and to the top male and female masters winners of the 5K Run. Awards will also be given out to the top three finishers in 15 separate age categories of the 5K event.

All participants of the 1K Turkey Trot will receive a ribbon. All runners and walkers who pre-register will also receive a free T-shirt and gift.  

The entry fee for the 1K Turkey Trot (children 12 and under) is $10. The pre-registration fee for the 5K Run/Walk is $20. The day of race registration fee is $25.

For information about how to register by mail or to register online please log onto www.ourstatpark.com.  All proceeds from the event will be used to help enhance and beautify the park.

Hmmm, now I wonder who or what organization could be doing this illegal act? I'm not going to make an educated guess who could be involverd in this deed but I think if Kings Parkers do some research they are smart enough to figure out who does not want the real facts of the "Uplands Project" to come to light. Displaying these signs is a way of making the public aware of the atrocity of this project. Questions will then be asked. Making a night run to remove them is, at the least, a cowardly act that should be publicized every time it occurs!
