5 Ways to Remember 9/11 in Kings Park

Volunteer, reflect, and remember in honor of those who lost their lives.

Like many suburbs in New York, Kings Park lost many of their own on that fateful day. Local organizations, religious groups and schools have organized ways to pay tribute to those lost and those left behind. Here are a few.

 1.     William T. Rogers Middle School will host a remembrance service Friday morning at 8:45 a.m. Students, administrators and those directly affected by 9/11 will remember those lost.

2.     takes place on Sunday at the Church of St. Joseph. Blessings will be given by Rev. Seán Gann at the noon mass.

3.     A ceremony to honor the victims of the 9/11 attacks will be held at RJO Intermediate School at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday. It will be held at the corner of Church Street and Old Dock Road.

4.     An will take place at the Thomas Butler Memorial at 4 p.m. at the Kings Park Bluff.

5.     On Monday, the Knights of Columbus, Father Seyfried Council will hold its twelfth annual golf classic at the Hamlet Windwatch Golf and Country Club. The outing will honor Thomas Butler who lost his life in the 9/11 attacks.
