5 Events Happening This Week

Here's what going on in and around Kings Park this week.

 

The Kings Park Board of Education meets Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the high school. Agenda items include student awards and recognition and a public reading on the code of conduct.


Join Prepared Foods Chef Joe, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, at Whole Foods in Lake Grove to learn how to make healthy and beautiful dishes Tuesday at 6 p.m.


Bring your young child, ages 3 to 5, down to Caleb Smith State Park so together your can discover nature, learning about "Beautiful Butterflies" on May 31 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Program fees are $4 per adult, $3 per a child.

Head to the Commack branch of the Smithtown Library for a discussion of the teen book of the month, led by teen volunteer readers. This month's book is Thirteen Reasons Why, by Jay Asher. Wednesday, 5 p.m.

If you've ever thought about converting to solar energy in your home or business but have questions about it, head to the Commack branch of the Smithtown Library for an  educational seminar by representatives from Energy By Choice, a local solar energy company. Wednesday 7 p.m.

Hmmm, now I wonder who or what organization could be doing this illegal act? I'm not going to make an educated guess who could be involverd in this deed but I think if Kings Parkers do some research they are smart enough to figure out who does not want the real facts of the "Uplands Project" to come to light. Displaying these signs is a way of making the public aware of the atrocity of this project. Questions will then be asked. Making a night run to remove them is, at the least, a cowardly act that should be publicized every time it occurs!
