Winter Farmers Market Set for January

Suffolk Y JCC in Commack will play to host to the market, which is set to open Jan. 6.

The Suffolk Y JCC in Commack will be home to a winter farmers market beginning Jan. 6 and running until March 31.

Regional producers will offer fresh products including vegetables, herbs, fruits, honey, jams, baked goods and cheeses among other products.

“The Suffolk Y JCC is excited to host the Winter Farmer’s Market,” said Alan Freedman, Associate Executive Director of the Suffolk Y JCC. “We feel that partnering with Friends & Farmers Inc. will help us to better serve our community by providing access to fresh, local produce to eat healthier.”

This is the first time a winter farmers market will be offered in Commack. Neighboring towns such as Kings Park host a farmers market, which begins in early summer and ends in late fall.

“We are so happy to be at the Suffolk Y JCC for this winter market, said Bernadette Martin, Director Friends & Farmers.
