Farmers Market Spotlight: Blue Duck Bakery

Artisan breads are this company's specialty.


The offers a host of fresh, organic and local products and Blue Duck Bakery is one of the many vendors that make up that mix.

The bakery specializes in artisan breads and according to their website, there is no use of preservative, stabilizers or dough conditioners in their breads, which are baked daily, The company has locations in Southampton and Southold.

Local firefighter, James LoDuca sent us a few pictures of Blue Duck at the farmers market and tells us, "usually by noon there isn't a crumb left behind."

We go to the Farmer's Market as a family each week. The kids love going! We love the pies from the Blue Duck Bakery! The Triple Berry is fantastic! The girls look forward to getting pretzels from the Ravioli booth - their pesto, sauce, and raviolis are amazing! Last year for Thanksgiving, we had the pumpkin raviolis as an appetizer! We also love all the fresh veggies that we bring home each week - the tomatoes are so juicy and delicious. The fresh lettuces taste so much better than anything from the supermarket. The corn is so sweet, you can eat it raw off the cob! The fresh string beans taste great - we grill them with a little olive oil! My personal favorite are the pickles from Horman's Best - I just love the brown mustard pickles!!! I am so thrilled that we have a huge farmer's market in KP! It is a great community event that I hope lasts for years! :)
