Weekend Spotlight: Airmid Carnival at Kings Park Plaza
Enjoy rides, games and carnival fare all weekend long.
The 2nd Annual will be in full swing this weekend. Proceeds from the rides will go to Airmid Theatre Company to help fund two free productions this summer in the Nissequogue River State Park
This year, Airmid’s Summer Theatre Festival will open on July 5th with the family series production of Jack and the Princess Who Never Laughed, by Kate Freiligrath-Kroeker. The second production, A Little Betrayal Among Friends, by Caridad Svich, will open on July 27th.
Tricia McDermott , founder and producing artistic director of Airmid Theatre, explains, “We started this event last year at the suggestion of Kevin Denis from who is a huge supporter of ours and one of our favorite people, so it was his help that made it happen.”

“I think the most important thing for people to know,” continues McDermott “is that we did this as a way to create some energy in town, show that we are more than just a theatre company but hopefully a partner in the community.”
Hoping for a big turnout, McDermott says, “We have bumper cars this year and some newer more interesting rides and of course, fun carnival food!”
