Kings Park Family Hopes to Win Worst Kitchen in America

A Kings Park family tired of using their oven door handle for a chin-up bar is hoping to win the infamous title of 'Worst Kitchen in America." 

Mike Egan, a lifelong Kings Park resident, and his family are among the top five finalist for the DIY Network's contest "Worst Kitchen In America." They've submitted a video "Save Our Family" for online voting, hoping they'll win a full kitchen makeover on the show's season finale. 

Paralyzed Kings Park Grad Seeks Help on Road to Success

A paralyzed Kings Park High School graduate is seeking the community's help to raise funds to put her back on the road to success. 

Hope for Alivia Trust is hosting a fundraiser on Thursday night for Alivia Holmes, Kings Park's Class of 2011, at the Smithtown Landing Country Club. The event hopes to raise $70,000 to help purchase a handicapped van to give Holmes reliable transportation for everyday events. 

Town Solicits Bids to Extend Kings Park Hike and Bike Trail

Smithtown Town officials have taken the next step towards extending the Kings Park Hike and Bike Trail to reach Main Street. 

Smithtown Town Board is soliciting bids from contractors to extend the existing 1.5-mile bike trail by approximately 975 feet, from the southwest portion down to Main Street. 

Kings Park Volleyball Sets Aim for Third Consecutive LI Title

As Kings Park girls volleyball team prepares to take the court against St. Anthony's on Wednesday, they've set their sight on winning a third Long Island title. 

Kings Park varsity girls volleyball returns to the court this fall after an undefeated 2012 season with high hopes after winning two consecutive Long Island Championship titles in 2011 and 2012. They've got their eyes set on a hat trick and possibly their first New York State Championship. 

Encore Showing of Kings Park Documentary on Sept. 29

Popular demand has brought "Kings Park: Stories from an American Mental Institution" back to the big screen. 

Huntington Cinema Arts Center will screen the Kings Park documentary made by former patient and film maker Lucy Winer for a sixth time on Sept. 26 at 1 p.m.
