FROM COMMACK:Local Dad Missing

A Dix Hills father, with two children in the Commack School District, has been missing since June 14, according to his family, which is now without him on Father’s Day.

According to his wife Ida, Robert Mayer, 46, never returned home from his job in the city Friday.

“We spoke in the morning at nine, when he was at work, and he was fine,” she said, with her voice cracking.

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating the situation. Police said that no criminality is believed to have taken place at this point, however, detectives are following all leads.

Two Children Injured in Route 111 Crash

Three people were injured in Tuesday's accident on Route 111; one adult and two young children.

Suffolk County police said a truck and SUV collided on Route 111 in Smithtown, south of the Village Center shopping plaza, at 9:34 a.m.

A helicopter was called in to transport those seriously injured to Stony Brook Hospital.

FROM THREE VILLAGE: Bicyclist Dies After Fall on Old Town Road

Suffolk police spokesperson said a bicyclist traveling on Old Town Road late Friday morning has died from his injuries.
