Anti-Drug Org Chases Yo-Yo Record

Kings PArk in the kNOw looks to put Kings Park in the Guinness Book of World Records for largest yo-yo showing.

Kings Park in the kNOw wants put Kings Park in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The anti-drug organization has ordered 3,000 yo-yos, in an attempt to break the record for largest group yo-yoing, which currently stands in the 2,100-person range.

The initiative is part of the nonprofit's plan to increase its influence outside of the school district and into the community itself.

“We really wanted to get the community involved, have everyone come out and get together," said ember Anne Carlin. "We also wanted to do something original that no one else is doing.”

The event will take place on Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. at the high school track. Kings Park in the kNOw has arranged a deal with Duncan to get custom yo-yos made with the group’s logo on one side. Each yo-yo will be $5 and may be for sale as early as Kings Park Day on June 18.

For those who are too young to participate in the yo-yo, the second option is to break the record for people singing “If You’re Happy and You Know It.” Carlin mentioned that that record is 961. She is attempting to get a representative from the Guinness Book of World Records to attend the event and verify the record.
