Kings Park Agenda: 70s Night at Main St. Pub, Musical Moments

Kids

  • Abrakadoodle will be at the Kings Park Farmer's Market this Sunday, July 21, offering free face painting and crafts.

Live Music

  • The Paul Henry Duo will present an eclectic blend of pop, folk and rock music at Friday’s Musical Moments in Kings Park summer concert. The show is held at Russ Savatt Park on Main Street in Kings Park at 7:30 p.m.

Events

  • You don't have to own a mood ring, lava lamp or pet rock to have a far out time at Main St. Pub's 70's Night. If disco ain't your thang, just rock out to some 70's classic rock, groove to soulful R&B jams or melt into mellow 70's pop one hit wonders. DJ Tony is spinning the tunes 10 p.m.-2 a.m. and talking requests. Main Street Pub, 8 p.m.

Festivals

  • The Kings Park Farmers Market is held on Sunday from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. in the municipal parking lot across from the firehouse on Main Street. Live Music

  • The Hoyt Farm Summer Concert Series continues this weekend. Children will enjoy KidsKoncert at 7:30 p.m. Friday and residents can get into the country spirit on Sunday with Joe Bayer Band (6 p.m.) and SixGun (7 p.m.). Hoyt Farm is located at 200 New Hwy., Commack.

  • Enjoy live music and entertainment this weekend at Perfecto Mundo in the Northgate Shopping Center (1141-1 Jericho Tpke., Commack). See Russ Seeger perform on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Norman Vincent on Saturday at 8 p.m. Locals can also have their portraits painted on Sunday at the restaurant from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.: $40 for a small portrait, $60 for a large portrait.

Smithtown

Benefit

  • Enjoy a fun-filled day of carnival games, pie-eating contests and more at Wag ‘n’ Wheels, a benefit for Canine Companions for Independence, at Smithtown Scion on Jericho Turnpike this Sunday, from 11 a.m - 3 p.m.

Fairs

  • The Auxiliary of St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center will sponsor a Summer Healthy Food Fair on Saturday, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on the grounds of the Medical Center Campus – 50 Route 25 A, Smithtown. Island Harvest will partner for this special event featuring health           information, free screenings, healthy cooking demonstrations and activities for children and will distribute FREE bags of seasonal fruits and vegetables to those in need and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

Kids

  • Smithtown Recreation Program offers a pre-school readiness program  for children ages 18 months - 5 years, participate with a caregiver on Friday.

Live Music

  • Enjoy live music outdoors on the lawn of the Smithtown Public Library at 8 p.m. on Thursday nights. The Rotary Clubs of Smithtown and Smithtown-Sunrise will be collecting non-perishable food for local food pantries.

Entertainment

  • Aaah, those summer nights. Catch a performance of Grease this weekend at the Smithtown Theater.

  • Rockin' Robin is back at Ciro’s Italian restaurant. Head to the bar area for a night of dancing bringing you back to the 50's, 60's and 70's including Doo-Wop, Motown and Disco Hits at 7 p.m Friday. There is a $10 cover charge.
Hauppauge

Fairs & Festivals

  • Visit the Nesconset Farmers Market. Open every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., through Nov. 16, residents can come down to the shopping center at Nesconset Plaza, 127 Smithtown Blvd., for farm-fresh fruits, veggies and homemade goods.

Live Music

  • When it comes to al fresco dining this summer, Blend Wine and Tapas is the place to be. Live music fills the outdoor patio Thursday through Saturday at the restaurant, located at 321 Nesconset Hwy., in Hauppauge. This weekend, features Ida Anzalone on Thursday, Anthony Romano on Friday and Karen Morsemann on Saturday.
