A scholar, a gentleman and one of my favorite Irishman! God Bless Bob!

I think if Mr. Creighton decides to run for Supervisor for Smithtown he will win. He has the new blood we are looking for. And he won't play favorites and hopefully will stop the favoritism that exists within some councilman towards town employees.

Sorry but he is a big double dipper--pension over $100.000 grand---if he wanted to stay working he should have stayed at Suffolk Police--- He is almost the same age as Pat Vecchio and will definitely need time to learn the job---sorry to old and to rich.

LOL! New blood? How long has this guy been at his post? Sorry, but Mr. Creighton is not my definition of "new blood".
Denise Creighton January 16, 2013 at 02:19 PM
Mary, You may be "wellbourne" but you are woefully misinformed. The matter of Bob Creighton's pension has been long put to rest. It is a matter of public record and can easily be obtained by those who care to deal with facts. Pension over "100 grand"- not even close to true. I am not sure what you are opposed to ..that Creighton served the pubic as a police officer and received a modest pension for 20+ years of service or that he now serves the community that he cares for? Neither "to" old nor "to" rich..maybe too dedicated for you..

Is he your father? Anyway checking site below under pensions he is not listed. Did he request that his info not be provided to the public? http://goo.gl/ZE5fa
Denise Creighton January 17, 2013 at 10:15 AM
Yes, Mitch, I am very proud to say Bob Creighton is my dad. I am not familiar with that website but he has always been above board about his pension.
Mitch Kerr January 17, 2013 at 01:58 PM
I am not suggesting that he is anything but "above board" about his pension. You- "It is a matter of public record and can easily be obtained by those who care to deal with facts. Pension over "100 grand"- Where or what database is this information located provide a link so anyone can check?
Denise Creighton January 17, 2013 at 02:27 PM
Personally , Mitch, I have found that relying on internet sources, or these days even newspaper sources, is dangerous. All things can and are manipulated by those who have their own agendas. My best advice would be to go out to the Suffolk County Offices in Yaphank and ask them for copy of his pension. Under the FOIL Act you are entitled to that information.
Mitch Kerr January 17, 2013 at 05:06 PM
The database "http://seethroughny.net/ is a registry for public sector payrolls and pensions all data files obtained pursuant to FOIL. Actually, my interest is not specific to your fathers financial affairs. However, maybe you can upload his pension documents to drop box or Google Drive and provide a link so all can see
Mitch Kerr January 19, 2013 at 01:49 AM
I accept that your proud that Bob Creighton is your father as you should. I have no opinion as I never met him. The truth folks is that the issue of Mr. Creighton’s pension has not been "put to rest" as Denise Creighton suggests. I and likely many others don't know anything about his pension which seems to be a topic of interest amongst some. Anyway you must FOIL the state comptroller not Suffolk county as she suggests
Denise Creighton January 19, 2013 at 01:56 AM
Thank, Mitch. I hope some day you have the opportunity to meet him as he is a really nice man who is dedicated to making Smithtown a better place. Thanks for the State Comptroller information. It might be worth your while to FOIL the official pension record, as many others already have, in order to find out just how exaggerated that 100 grand comment is. Thanks for your input.
Denise Creighton January 19, 2013 at 02:48 AM
Mitch, I will tell you this and if you are not satisfied you can FOIL the information..Mt dad's pension is well under $50,000 for 20 + years of serving his community as a Suffolk County Policeman,
Mitch Kerr January 19, 2013 at 04:32 PM
what year did he retire? rank?
Denise Creighton January 20, 2013 at 03:24 AM
Hi Mitch...He retired in 1981 as a Det. Sgt.
Denise Creighton January 20, 2013 at 03:30 AM
He then went back to DA's office for a short time...total pension Creighton Robert J Suffolk County 2003-03-03 $41,168.00 as per NYS database.........far cry from 100,000. There are facts and there are spins...bottom line is it is a fact that he does not receive a $100000 pension.

Do the councilmen of Smithtown receive pay if so how much?
Mitch Kerr January 23, 2013 at 05:57 PM
Denise, I am involved with this issue far more than I care to because it is something that cant be changed. However, after reading your posting I found his pension based upon his work at the county @ $41,000 why is he not listed in the Police & Fire Retirement System?
Mitch Kerr January 23, 2013 at 06:13 PM
Denise, you "DA's office for a short time..." exactly how long did he work for the DA?
Mitch Kerr January 28, 2013 at 03:57 PM
