5 Things To Do This Weekend

Nassau/Suffolk Youth Forum

Participate in a regional summit to discuss and make recommendations to improve alcohol and drug prevention, treatment and recovery services for youth and families in local communities. Program begins at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

16th Annual William T. Rogers Charity Basketball Game

Head down to the gymanasium and watch elementary, intermediate, middle, and high school teams will all compete for the championship. Food and raffles will be on hand. Event starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $4.

Defensive Driving Class

Take a New York State Department of Motor Vehicles approved defensive driving class, given by Empire Safety Council Defensive Driving School on Sunday. Class will begin at 9:00 a.m. You must bring your driver's license. Fee is $39.95

Youth Art Showcase 2012

Visit the Mill Pond House Gallery on Saturday to take a look at artwork created by students in the surrounding area. Meet talented student artists and enjoy a performance by Smithtown School District's Royal Strings Trio.

Opening reception from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

My Furry Valentine

What better way to let love shine than to have a Valentine's Day photo with your pet. Head down to Groomingdales in Northport on Saturday from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Pet Portraits will photograph your pet for a $10 donation. There will also be a bake sale and raffles. This event will benefit the League for Animal Protection of Huntington.

Hmmm, now I wonder who or what organization could be doing this illegal act? I'm not going to make an educated guess who could be involverd in this deed but I think if Kings Parkers do some research they are smart enough to figure out who does not want the real facts of the "Uplands Project" to come to light. Displaying these signs is a way of making the public aware of the atrocity of this project. Questions will then be asked. Making a night run to remove them is, at the least, a cowardly act that should be publicized every time it occurs!
