Help those in need by supporting a community wide food drive organized by Eagle Scout from Troop 539 in Kings Park. Kevin's work supports the Gerald J. Ryan Outreach Center food pantry, which was destroyed by fire.

The 2012 Nursery School Fair takes place Wednesday, 1 p.m. at the Nesconset branch of the Smithtown Library.The fair offers parents the opportunity to visit with representatives from various pre-schools within the Smithtown area to gather information and to ask questions about their programs.

Warm up a winter night with a belly dancing demonstration, Wednesday evening. The Smithtown Library presents a show by Mystique and the Desert Wind Dance Group. The group specializes in the American cabaret style, but expect to see traditional belly dancing as well. Swords, canes, and elaborate costumes are also part of the show.

Thursday is Groundhogs Day and a celebration is taking place at the Nesconset branch of the Smithtown Library. Will spring be sprung or will we have to wait another six weeks? Bring your child to learn all about groundhogs and they'll come home with a crafted one of their own to put on the refrigerator.
