Youth Art Showcase

The Smithtown Township Arts Council’s Annual Youth Art Showcase at the Mills Pond House Gallery. Highlighting the creativity of young people in Suffolk County, the exhibit includes artwork created by more than 250 students who have used art to express themselves in a wide variety of creative and exciting ways.

BURN: One Year on the Front Lines in the Battle to Save Detroit

BURN,” a new film from producer/directors Tom Putnam and Brenna Sanchez, and executive producer Denis Leary (“Rescue Me”).

Filmmakers Putnam and Sanchez were given unprecedented access, and their documentary closely tracks the lives of the firefighters over the course of a full year.  The film was culled from over 1,000 hours of interviews and additional footage, much of it shot during actual fires, inside blazing, smoke-filled buildings. Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. Port Jefferson Cinema.

Let's Discover Nature

The “Let’s Discover Nature” Hour is a special time for both parent and child to discover the wonders of their natural world together. Each program’s theme will use nature explorations and hands-on activities as a springboard for learning. Thursday's theme will be "In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb", 10 a.m. Caleb Smith Park.

Open Budget Workshop

The Kings Park Board of Education will be holding their second open budget workshop at 7:30 p.m. at the high school. Two more workshops will follow; March 11 and March 16. The budget vote will take place on May 21. 

Restaurant Week

The lone restaurant from Kings Park participating in Smithtown Restaurant Week is Ciro's of Kings Park, which began Sunday.

During the week, presetned by the Greater Smithtown Chamber of Commerce, locals could enjoy a three-course price fixed dinner at $25 per person at the participating restaurants. There are 29 restaurants total in the Town of Smithtown participating in the week. The event ends March 10. Click the link to see the full list of participating restaurants.
