BOE Candidate Event to be Moderated by League of Women Voters

Meet the candidates night begins Thursday evening at 7 p.m.

Residents will have a chance to meet the four candidates competing for two Kings Park Board of Education seats at this Thursday's Meet the Candidates event at the high school.

According to District Superintendent, Susan Agruso, the event, like last year, is being moderated by a representative from the League of Women Voters.

Audience members can ask questions by writing them down and handing them in to the moderator or ask them directly at the microphone where candidates will be given a one minute response time.

“Time is controlled to give each candidate equal response time,” said Agruso.

The four candidates, Pam DeFord, Tom Locascio, Liz Barrett and Charlie Gardner, will be given one minute each to introduce themselves and three minutes each at the end to sum up.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. at the high school and is expected to end at nine.
