Girl's Card Touches Hearts at Kings Park Veterans Day Parade

A Veterans Day card puts a smile on the faces of local veterans.

A young girl at the Kings Park Veterans Day Parade touched a few hearts when she approached Al Mlodynia, the commander of the Nissequogue Veterans of Foreign War Post 5796, after the parade.

The girl, who was with her mother, handed Mlodynia the card seen above thanking him and his fellow veterans for their service.

"The young girl had a big smile on her face and was so proud to hand me the card," Mlodynia told Patch.

The girl didn't put her name on the card, but Mlodynia said he and the other veterans from the Post wanted to thank everyone involved in making cards for veterans as they "really touched a soft spot in their hearts."
