Third Season of Musical Moments in Kings Park Set to Begin

Season kicks off June 21 at Russ Savatt Park on Main Street.

Residents will soon be tapping their feet on Main Street for a third season of music and even a little dance as Musical Moments gets set to rock the summer.

The concert series, with support from the Kings Park Civic Association, the Kings Park Chamber of Commerce and the local business community, will kick off on June 21. A grant from the Huntington Arts Council was also secured for this season.

This year, in addition to ten live concerts, there will be “Dancing in the Park” on July 26. Louis Del Prete, DJ and dance instructor will teach the Merengue and provide music for Latin and Ballroom Dancing.

In the event of rain, performances will be held at RJO Intermediate School. The series runs until August 30. Residents are asked to bring seating. 
June 21: SNAP with Clem Allen. Rhythm, blues, funk and dance music.

  • June 28: Kindred- Joe Roche and Caitlin Grossman. Irish night.
  • July 5: Abraxas with Juan Remus, a Santana band.
  • July 12: All Good Friends- big bands to Broadway. 
  • July 19: Paul Henry Duo with Paul Henry and Jeff Laino singing favorite tunes.
  • July 26: Dancing in the Park with DJ Louis Del Prete.
  • Aug. 2: The New Yorkers- playing music from the 40's and today.
  • Aug. 9: Northport Jazz Band- 17-piece jazz band.
  • Aug. 16: Fiddler's Green- playing traditional folk music
  • Aug 23: John Custie Trio: Popular Latin, dance and ethnic music.
  • Aug. 30: Just 60's with Rob Gerver playing non-stop music of the 60's.
Concerts are held at Russ Savatt Park on Main Street in Kings Park from 7:30 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.
