There is always a reason for a price-increase - I can't remember ever reading about a reason for aRead More price-decrease. It's possible no one else has noticed this. Isn't capitalism wonderful?

THIS IS NOT THE TYPE OF BUSINESS THAT WE NEED ANYWHERE AS IT PROMOTES ALCOHOLISM - WE NEED USRead More MANUFACTURERS OF ELECTRIC CARS AND SOLAR PANELS AND WIND TURBINES INSTEAD!!

knee jerk - that's dumb. but I wouldn't expect anything more from a Ranger fan.

Bill Torreys' Islanders success plan: finish dead last for four or five years, receive a bunch ofRead More low draft picks (who we don't have pay much money to), plug in some veteran role players (who we don't have to pay much money to)and win Stanley Cups until the team either gets old or expensive, then sell off the pieces. Cheap franchise right from the start, nothing magical about those teams. They were stacked with low draft picks, which no longer can work due to the increased number of teams diluting the draft. How well has that worked in the 30 years since?

Similar to Uncle Giuseppe's, its a bit too pricey for regular shopping, at least for a family and aRead More budget.
P. J. Miller April 5, 2014 at 07:55 am
Agree with IMHO. Trying to be like Uncle Giuseppe's but never will! Very expensive can do muchRead More better elsewhere and very limited on alot of items. Shop the circular, but otherwise you can do better elsewhere. Fish dept SMELLED of bad fish so we walked away! It will do well because there is nothing nearby, but a regular supermarket would have been a better choice price wise!

confucius? confusion, maybe. I will refrain from further response to this post. I refuse to sink toRead More this level and answer to a Higher authority. I will pray for your redemption.

JACK, The Church IS NOT these human FRAUDS and PHONIES, who hold daily and weekly, POLITICALRead More INDOCTRINATION SESSIONS, AND kowtow to whatever alien political ideology, that is popular, and that they embrace. It is my understanding that ALL religions suffer, to some varying degree, from these FRAUDS. So you have to HOLD YOUR NOSE AND IGNORE THEM, and have enough Faith, that THESE TYPES, are the social flotsam, that is 'PASSING THROUGH', any Society's 'digestive system'...and are anomalies, NOT THE RULE...AND that any 'influence' they have, is temporary...LIKE A MIGRAINE...or a stomach virus !
Robert Demarco March 19, 2014 at 08:07 am
Jack, I am not anti-Catholic. Humans have done harm to the Church(priests, bishops, etc). I donateRead More regularly and directly to the Parish outreach, which helps people all over the Island. I was not referring to regular maintenance in my previous post. They raised money during the recession to install ceramic, marble, and oak in a church that was 20 years old. I feel that it was an unnecessary burden for the parishioners whose generosity is always exploited. And Jack, the main reason for lower contributions is lower attendance at Mass, and there are many reasons for that.
Jack March 19, 2014 at 07:17 pm
Brookhaven Why don't you criticize all religions like you do the Church. Jump on that bandwagon.Read More Bottom line the Church has so much good for the world and I'm not going to let some earthly men detract me from enjoying being a Catholic and attending Mass. I feel very lucky to be Catholic. The combination of all other religions combined do not come near what the Cathokic Charities has done for those in need. If they make a few mistakes, so be it. Why don't you find yourself another religion if you care about God at all. I think you will be disappointed. Robert, I appreciate your post an agree with you. I think things are cyclical and we have a society an culture now that belittle religion and especially the Church. I enjoy the extra room in the pews and look forward to seeing better days with more attendees. I also look forward to a more conservative government that will support faith based operations and the departure of this leaderless government we have now.

...AND A BODY CONDOM !
BK13 February 6, 2014 at 04:24 pm
Oh stop. What in the WORLD do you care what goes on in a place when you or your loved ones aren'tRead More present? As long as it was cleaned up afterwards (and I believe I read they sanitized it TWICE to appease you lunatics). Question: Do you ever stay in a hotel? Do you really want to know what happened there in the past? Does it really matter as long as you know the hotel cleaned up the room? I guess you can't go on public transportation or touch a doorknob either? People are getting all worked up for no reason at all. Would I ever go to a party like that? Probably not. But I mean really...live and let live.

(Background: Computer Programmer, Web Developer) The problem with avoiding dictionary words asRead More passwords is that they're just too d**n difficult to remember. If you need to keep a written copy of your password to remember, that's significantly less safe than "qwerty123." You're far more likely to have your account "hacked" by a family member or friend than an outside party. Keeping a password secure AND remember-able is the key. I find this webcomic explains it best: https://xkcd.com/936/

Francis Soyer: Point of information if you will. When one is going to install the new LED light bulbRead More which would be the preferred choice? The MiracleLED Un-Edison 60W Equivalent Frost or the Samsung A19 60-Watt Warm White. From the knowlege you demonstrated above I thought I would ask an expert.
Francis Soyer January 30, 2014 at 10:27 am
Vincent - Honestly I'm not too familiar with either product. Neither is an "industryRead More standard" name brand. Samsung is obviously know for their electronics, I don't know if they are actually manufacturing their LED's or using somebody else's, but Samsung generally has good products. MiracleLED, unknown??? However I did a quick search on both. Samsung: 10.8 watts, 810 lumens, 27,000k, 15,000 hrs, 130 degree beam angle. MiracleLED: 5 watts, 500 lumens, 27,000k, 30,000 hrs, they claim "360 degree lighting" but do not list an actual beam angle, but it would certainly be much greater then the 130 on the Samsung. I would look at application first. Can you see the bulb in the fixture you are putting it in? If so the Samsung's heat sink is very visible and if it were in a glass fixture that I could clearly see the bulb I wouldn't want to see the Samsung bulb, I would pick the MiracleLED even though just by first appearance the Samsung looks like it is made better. I think the only application I would use the Samsung would be in a can light as the light output is more directional especially if I needed more light as the Samsung puts out 60% more light. Both seem to be priced at about $16 each. The more recognized LED name brands are Cree & Nochia, also, GE, Phillips & Sylvania make them as well. I like the "Cree 60W equivalent soft white (2700K) A19 dimmable LED light bulb", sold at Home Depot & Lowes.

Ummm, Hmmm, let me think... Drink and drive. Kind of struck me that this was posted like kegs ofRead More alcohol are a big draw. Guess so. I actually kind of liked going there and seeing people enjoy coffee, shakes and soft drinks. I must be living in a dream world to think those kinds of beverages were good enough- or enjoyable enough to leave alone. Guess not. Just my opinion.
Rich Mc January 16, 2014 at 09:36 pm
Jumping from serving beer and wine to being responsible for their patrons drinking and driving isRead More quite a specious comparison and it's just downright ridiculous.
Relish Kings Park January 18, 2014 at 02:27 pm
Just to clear up any misconceptions. We will now in fact be serving beer and wine out of our newRead More draft system. Wine served from kegs is considered friendlier to the environment because of the reduced amount of packaging. Our staff is trained to serve alcohol responsibly. -Steve
