On June 3, I called up Suffolk County 's Chief Engineer's office and spoke to Mister Justin…Read More Hipperling. My concern was the safety of the large volume of canoe and kayak traffic that passes UNDER the bridge during the summer months. Mr. Hipperling was very reassuring, and said that he did not foresee any problems.
When the State constructed the new bridge across the Nissequogue River a few years back, they kept the river open to boat traffic for the entire project.
We hope that the County can do the same.

I was a loyal customer of Mr Cheapos in Commack since 1985, when I moved to this area. It is a…Read More treasure trove of old music, and a unique experience. Selling your used vinyl, and CDS was a bonus! I always took the store credit and turned around and spent even more than the credit within the store that same day. This worked well for 27 years! Then last December I arrived with a small box of CDs maybe 20 total to turn it and had some CDs planned to buy with that credit. There was a newish face at the counter who was downright rude, would not even look at the CDs said he was not authorized to, also they were not buying anything right then as they were "full up" until after Christmas and would not tell me when Stu, Marcia or any regular Ive come to know would be there. He used fowl language, and told me to get out of the store. I left, have not been back since. I took my box of CDs to Looney Tunes in West Babylon that same day where I was treated nicely, actually given more $$ than I ever got at Cheapos, and was able to purchase what I wanted within their store of new/used for less as well. My daughter had even interviewed Stu for a paper for a college R&R history elective course...too bad it can all end on one sour note.

Comment from the original article:Ok so now the real reason Kings Park Main street is falling apart.…Read More As it turns out, the real reason they are doing to hook up to the sewer pipes on main street is so they can build "affordable housing apartments" in Kings Park down town business section. (the 3 blocks that there is of it). Now, if anything kings park has affordable housing right now..too much of it if you ask me because houses are still empty.. .houses start at 200,000 condos start at 150,000..that is affordable on long island they are using the word "affordable" to mean low income housing. Why would the landlords keep up the buildings on main street if they are going to ripe them down to build low income housing. If they let main street fall apart--like they did, then the public would be more likely to allow the housing because it would look better then it does now...look up the Newsday articular this week and you will see.

I've wanted to stop at the Farmer's Market for a long time, but come Sunday I get busy and forget.…Read More I did go this past Sunday looking to buy good tomatoes. There are never good tomatoes in the local grocery stores. I could not wait to get my wonderful tomatoes, but when I got there I did not see any fresh produce. Although what was offered was nice I thought I was going to a farmer's market - I was so disappointed. Please someone bring some great big juicy red tomatoes to the Kings Park Farmer's Market!
