Maybe it's time (George) the Old Dock didn't get a pass. What used to be a great place has turnedRead More into an uninviting "battleground" If the Old Dock is to survive under it's current management they need to consider the public & their customer base. The Old Dock will have to accept the beach belongs to everyone. Maybe, just maybe the ToS will make him realize that. As far as the sign, yes, I'll call the town to see the permit status, if there isn't one, well I will file a complaint. Only a small start but it's a start.

Sign Permit? Doubtful. Our Town Officials have always turned a blind eye to the Old Dock Inn'sRead More aggressive efforts to take over more than is rightfully theirs. Notice the new fence along the beach that has recently been replaced. It has moved to a new location, several feet away from the Property Line. Whose idea was that?

This is really sad. Rather than foster an inviting atmosphere for families and visitors and promoteRead More business for the Kings Park area, the owners (George) would rather continue with the harsh, rude behavior that has driven people away. The days of the Beacon and the Old Dock Inn have changed for the worst. It has me puzzled that the decline in their business hasn't caused them to do a little "soul searching" a realize that they are part of the problem. The friendly, comfortable "home town" feeling has long gone. When George and the "owners" realize all they have left is "their" beach, maybe they will wake up and once again want to belong to the Kings Park business community. In the mean time, I'll continue to feel at home & comfortable at Celtic & Shanahans. Supporting our local businesses is what it's about! (hope the Old Dock has a sign permit)

My cousin in Florida is married to a grand daughter of the Burr family and we were told of how theRead More grandparents used to hobnob with the rich and famous like in The Great Gatsby. I don't know if it's the same side of the family however this same grand daughter had her grand father create Concentrated Orange Juice.
