Republican Primaries, Common Core Round Table this Week in King Park

Good morning, Kings Park. Here's a look at what's happening this week, from Sept. 9 - 13. 


Republican Primary Day

Registered Republican votes will head to the polls on Tuesday to choose which candidate will run on the Republican line in this November's elections. Primaries are being held for seats of: Smithtown Town Supervisor, Smithtown Town Board and the 13th district of the Suffolk County Legislature. 

Town Board Meeting

Smithtown Town Board will hold the first of its two town board meetings in September on Tuesday at 2 p.m. The full agenda will be available on the town's website after 5 p.m. Monday. 

Common Core Round Table Discussion

Kings Park School officials will host a roundtable discussion with parents at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the Common Core Standards at Kings Park High School. 

Board of Zoning Appeals

Town of Smithtown's Board of Zoning Appeals will host its first meeting of September on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Eugene Canataro Senior Citizen Center. 

Kings Park Board of Education

The Kings Park Board of Education will host its first meeting of the 2013-14 school year on Tuesday at 8 pm., following the Common Core roundtable discussion. 

Open Contemporary Dance Class

Dancers are invited to take a class with Ted Tedholm, of "So You Think You Can Dance," at Kings Park Dance Center every Tuesday starting Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. Class is $10.
