Park View Seeks Donations to Help Kings Park Family After Fire

Monetary donations and gift cards being collected for Kings Park family who lost their home to fire.

The Park View community is hoping to pull together to help give a Kings Park family a happy holiday season after losing their home to fire.

Park View Parent-Faculty Association is seeking monetary donations or gift cards to help a Kings Park family whose home on Eugene Drive caught fire this Sunday.

Kings Park firefighters responded to a 911 call at 8:52 a.m. Sunday on Eugene Drive reporting an extremely fast-moving fire that started on the fire floor of the home, and quickly spread to the second floor and attic.

Two occupants were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital - one for minor burns, one for smoke inhalation.

Chrissy Tetrault, co-president of Park View Parent-Faculty Association, said the family has lost much and is currently staying with relatives in Northport until they can find a place in Kings Park to rent.

The family has two children: one student who attends Park View Elemenary, and one who attends William T. Rogers.

Donations can be sent to Park View Elementary school, as staff members will make sure all money and gift cards get to the family.
