Heat Brings Extended Swimming Hours at Sunken Meadow Beach
Beach front swimming hours extended until 8 p.m. through Friday.
Beach lovers can hang just a little longer this week at state park beaches including Sunken Meadow thanks to this week's heat wave.
The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is announced that, due to the current heat wave, several Long Island State Park beachfront parks will be extending public swimming hours, in lifeguard protected areas, through Friday.
Beach front swimming hours will be extended until 8 p.m. at Sunken Meadow, Hither Hills, Heckscher and Jones Beach State Parks.
