Softball: Unlike last year, after taking the first game of the best-of-three series, the Lady Kingsmen closed out Sayville in game two . Lindsay Taylor was magnificent again, striking out 12 in her latest dominant performance. They advance to the Regional Finals where they will meet Seaford, the Nassau County champion, on Tuesday at Martha Avenue Field in Bellport at 4:30.
Baseball: After an opening round victory over Rocky Point, the Kings Park baseball team lost consecutive games to Sayville and Mt. Sinai to be eliminated from contention in the Class A double-elimination tournament. Nick Venier hit his team-leading seventh home run of the season, but the Kingsmen were unable to provide enough offense to match Mt. Sinai's offensive display, as they ultimately lost 14-4.
