Varsity Scoreboard: Softball Stays On Cruise Control
Taylor keeps softball in contention, girls lacrosse hanging on.
Softball: Lindsay Taylor allowed just one run in two more stellar performances this week, a 6-1 victory over Miller Place, and a 10-0 drubbing of Islip. She fired 13 strikeouts in each contest, improving her mark to 7-1 on the season. The team is fighting with Deer Park for the top spot in League V. The two teams are currently tied for first place.
Baseball: The Kingsmen dropped a pair of League V games this week and fell from first to third place. After falling 6-1 to Deer Park, the current League V leader, they were unable to get a runner on base through five innings against Eastport-South Manor's Brandon O'Sullivan. The pair of defeats brings the team's record to 4-3 in conference play, and 5-3 overall.
Boys lacrosse: Eddie Greco's 21 saves weren't enough as the boys lacrosse team fell to Bayport-Blue Point on Wednesday, 13-8. The Kingsmen got a hat trick from Andrew Gannon, but managed only two goals in the second half. They fell to 3-5 with the loss.

Girls lacrosse: The girls lacrosse team blew a 10-4 second half lead against John Glenn and fell 11-10 Wednesday in a game that could have damaged the Lady Kingsmen's playoff chances. They now sit at 3-4 in League II. A loss to 2-5 Glenn may hurt them as they fell into the bottom half of the league standings.
