Kings Park Junior Hurdles Toward Track and Field Championships
Shannon Ahern ranks fifth in New York in Intermediate Hurdles.
Kings Park Junior, Shannon Ahern, will be representing Kings Park High School and Section XI at the New York State Track and Field Championships to be held at Middletown High School Friday and Saturday.
Ahern was made eligible by finishing second in Suffolk County in the 400M intermediate hurdles at the New York State Qualifying meet at Port Jefferson High School this past Saturday.
Earlier this season Ahern set the school record in the 400 IH with a time of 62.47 seconds.
Shannon currently ranks fifth in New York State and 24th in the nation in the event. Her time is only .8 seconds off the top time in New York State this year.
