Kings Park Junior Finishes Strong in State Wrestling Championships

Kings Park junior Nick Weber took home fifth place at the NYS Wresting Championships.

Kings Park Junior Nick Weber took home fifth place in New York State at the NYS Wrestling Championships in Albany this past weekend.

Weber qualified for the semi-finals, taking out the number two seed in dramatic fashion in the Quarterfinals as he scored a reversal with one second remaining, before falling in the semi-finals.

Weber wrestled back to win the fifth and sixth place match and secure his fifth place finish.

Hard to express how impressive 5th in the state is, especially for a junior. We, Kings Parkers, have been a bit spoiled with all of the success we have had recently in the states (Bosch, 215lb champion, the Soria brothers, national champs, Martin, placing in NYS, Venier 2nd in section X1 this year & many others), so it is important to high-light his success. Congratulations to Nick and the coaching staff for promoting discipline, a winning attitude, and a true winning program. It has been a long time since coach Davey had the program amongst the best in the county and is great to see Coach Magnani, Crespi, and Lopallo have such prolonged success. Go Kings Park!!
