Kings Park Grad Thrives on the Track, in the Classroom

Kings Park High alum Nicki Cronin, a senior on the Muhlenberg College track and field team was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll and Spring All-Sportsmanship Team after an excellent outdoor season.

To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, a student must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, a starter or key reserve on her team and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average. Created by the CC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, the All-Sportsmanship Team includes a member from each team, selected by coaches and teammates, who displayed good sportsmanship throughout the season.

A physics major and double minor in Spanish and mathematics, Cronin made the Academic Honor Roll for the ninth time at Muhlenberg. The distance runner turned in a strong spring season, highlighted by a fifth-place finish and an ECAC-qualifying performance in the 1,500 at the CC Outdoor Championships, in which she jumped into fourth on Muhlenberg’s all-time performance list with a time of 4:36.76. She finished 11th in the event at the ECAC Championships. Cronin also ran the second leg of the ECAC-qualifying 4x400-meter relay team that produced a fourth-place showing.
