Kingmen Bring Home Victory at Tip-Off Tournament

Kings Park boys basketball win for second year in Kings Park Chamber tournament.

Kings Park varsity boys basketball is setting its reputation as one to beat on the courts this winter. 

The Kingsmen basketball team won its second consecutive victory in  the King Park Chamber of Commerce's annual Tip-Off Tournament held this weekend at Kings Park High School. 

The tournament featured a simple-four game format including Kings Park, Commack, Wheatley Heights and Centereach. The Kingmen defeated Centereach by a score of 69 - 33 on Friday night, to face off against Wheatley Heights on Saturday. 

Kings Park brought home the victory with a 59-47 victory over Wheatley Heights on Saturday afternoon.  

John Li was named the tournament MVP for scoring a total of 50 points and 12 assists over the weekend.. Senior Jordan Finzel joined Li on the All-Tournament team after a 12-point performance in the final match on Saturday. 

The annual tournament was held in memory of Coach Gene DeGraw, who died over the last year.
