Girls Volleyball Wins Suffolk's Class A Title

Kings Park varsity girls volleyball claims third-straight Suffolk title, eyes Long Island Championship.

Kings Park girls volleyball team has proven its Suffolk's powerhouse, winning its hat-trick of Suffolk titles on Wednesday. 

The Kingsmen varsity girls volleyball team won its third consecutive Suffolk Class A Championship title, beating Islip by 3-0 matches on Wednesday, Newsday reports. 

Junior Amanda Gannon, an outside hitter, was unstoppable with a match-record high of 13 kills, 9 digs and three aces in the finals game on Wednesday, keeping the match well under her control. An enthusiastic crowd responded "You Can't Stop Here" after each point. 

"I could hear them over there. It's really great. Our crowd is what keeps us motivated and it makes you want to work harder," said Gannon to Newsday. "We talk about getting things done, like making that perfect pass, making that perfect set, and making that perfect kill."

Kings Park will aim to win another hat-trick, looking to win their third consecutive Long Island championship when it plays the winner of the winner of South Side vs. Long Beach 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's.
