Whether you are looking to stay in shape or you want to set a goal of finishing your first race, there's plenty of racing events in and around Smithtown. Considered to be one of the top races on Long Island, the 35th Great Cow Harbor 10K Run will be held Sept. 15. More than 5,600 participated in last year's run through the village of Northport. A hilly race, this is one you want to work up to.
3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk for Pat Harmon
coach and teacher in the Smithtown school district passed away in 2010 of brain cancer. All proceeds are donated to the American Cancer Society for brain cancer research. Oct. 28, 9:30 a.m. 26 New York Ave, Smithtown.

Run begins at corner of Townline and Scholar Lane, North on Townline Rd, right on Marshmallow , east on Marshmallow to Hayrick. Right on Hayrick and head south, cross Scholar Lane into parking lot.
