Board will vote on child care center proposal.

The Kings Park School District will hold a special meeting on Wednesday (tonight) evening at 5 p.m. to vote on a proposal to lease space at the district administration building on Lawrence Avenue.

The proposal is for New Beginnings, a child care facility, to rent the space once occupied by New Discovery Child Care.

The board had heard a presentation given by Sylvia Bastone, the owner of New Beginnings, at the Aug.14 board meeting. A lease agreement was drawn up this past Friday. At a board meeting on Tuesday, the board asked that the proposal be tabled until they had an opportunity to review the agreement.

“Some conversation and some changes were made in the lease agreement and several months of rent have been provided up front,” Agruso said in a conversation with Patch Wednesday afternoon.

The meeting will be held Aug. 29, 5 p.m. at the high school.
