School District Takes a Second Look at Days Used for Lost Time Due to Sandy

The board will discuss the possibility of using time from the February break.

 

The Kings Park Board of Education will discuss days used to make up for lost time due to Hurricane Sandy at the Nov. 27 meeting.

According to an announcement on the district's website, there will be a discussion to consider using February vacation as the make-up days for lost time due to the storm.The district lost a total of six days, three of which will be made up with conference days.

District Superintendent, Susan Agruso said they are getting additional information about what days they can and cannot use.

"They are also concerns that we are having February vacation, but taking days from a religious week," she said.

Agruso said a call will be made to residents in the district on Sunday evening letting them know about the meeting and that the results of the discussion will be posted on the district's website on Wednesday.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the high school.
